Over the weekend, I paid a visit to Montigo Resorts in Batam on a private trip, and just needed to do a fast post on the place before I forget - the place is simply amazing though they are not totally open yet!

Just check out the welcoming view from the lobby…the resort is made up of three varieties of villas with refined variations - Hill Side Villa, Hill Top Pool Villa and Spa Villa (I reckon you possibly can kind of tell what the differences are from the names!)

There was a cold towel and welcome lemongrass drink to enjoy whereas we were checking in…even for those who don't speak Bahasa Indonesia, no worries because the workers are decently proficient in English. The standard of service is almost equal to that of Membership Med in Bintan, which is actually saying something.

The resort is set right into a hillside, so a good quantity of strolling is required - prolonged exploration of the resort is not advisable for old people or these with younger children, although travel can easily be taken care of by the quite a few buggies servicing the resort.
The bottom floor consisted of a spacious lounge complete with kitchen facilities and even a Wii…the day beds have been so cozy, you will even fell asleep there!

And oh, the villa pool…it is not large, but most satisfying - you solely have to open the living room sliding doors, take 2 steps and climb straight into the pool.

The second ground was made up of the 2 bedrooms with attached bogs - the{master room (which I got) has a 4 poster bed, while the second room has two single beds…take my word for it, when you sink into the bed and the pillows, you won't wish to budge!
Rest room , The stone bathtub is right under a skylight, and came with a pleasant packet of tub salts…too bad I didn't have time to soak in there! There's additionally a separately partitioned shower stall and bathroom if you have to share the lavatory with someone.

One other awesome touch - double sinks! No have to queue or fight for sink space within the morning…big plus point for me.

I hadn't heard about Malin + Goetz before this, but after a fast Google search ( just love instant information at your fingertips?) I found out they're an apothecary based in New York. They've essentially the most amazing smelling toiletries - rum soap, cilantro body wash, peppermint shampoo…you may simply imagine these lovely scents, cannot you?

The restaurant is the only bit that looked extra paying homage to Indonesian design, but in some way I preferred it - slightly bit rustic with modern parts weaved in.

Look up! I had to give two thumbs as much as the resort's consideration for nature…as an alternative of demolishing the entire space, they made concessions round a few of the bushes which I thought was a small step in the fitting direction.

From an eco-friendly perspective, the resort additionally made the hassle to preserve as much power as doable - the common areas of the resort are mostly white with ethereal ceilings and fans, whereas at the villas only the mandatory areas such as bedrooms and front room are air conditioned (the staircase as much as each flooring is ventilated from the outside).

For individuals who cannot fully disconnect from the web but yet don't need to pay hefty roaming charges, you may be most delighted to know that Montigo Resorts has free Wifi throughout all the resort (personally tested, they've awesomely quick speeds and steady signal!) - are you jumping for pleasure yet?. This resort already official launching in March 2013.
